A bear killed a hunter in the Ust-Maisky region of Yakutia and a team was formed to capture the animal, the press service of the Ministry of Ecology, Natural Resources and Forestry reports.
According to the department, in the Elbej area, 45 kilometers from the village of Ezhantsy, Ust-May district, police and environmental inspectors discovered the body of a deceased man in a hunting cabin.
“According to preliminary data, the hunter died from an attack by a brown bear. The animal entered through the window at night. During the inspection, the gun was found in the cabin safe.” – said the press service.
It should be noted that a decision was made to regulate the number of brown bears in the Ust-Maysky region. For this purpose, a brigade of six hunters has been formed.
A similar incident occurred at the end of September in the Primorsky Territory. The bear then killed two men after breaking into a farmhouse.
