Within the framework of control measures carried out by the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AQTA) in relation to biologically active food products (BAQM), a total of 15 products belonging to 11 companies were found to be non-compliant. .

Therefore, although these products are declared to contain plant ingredients, as a result of the examinations, effective substances that cannot be included in BAQM were detected in the samples. This, in addition to the serious violation of the requirements of the legislation regarding the composition and information on the labeling of such products, can lead to the appearance of serious problems for their health by offering consumers a product whose use is not permitted. in food products. in the name of BAQM.
In relation to this fact, the sale of a total of 7,362 products found in the warehouses of these companies was prohibited and 2,550 products were removed from pharmacy chains. This process is currently ongoing.
Law enforcement has been contacted for a legal evaluation of the matter. Investigations are ongoing.
