Liputan6.com, zagreb – Anis Matta, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, emphasized Indonesia’s commitment to strengthen his diplomatic and cultural position in southeastern Europe, supporting the construction of the Mosque of the Trushclav in the Islamic Center Osieke, Croatia.
During an official visit to the ICO, Vamenla Anis Matta, who accompanied the Indonesia ambassador to Zagreb and the head of the Waqf Dompet Dhuafa Institute for Development and Investments.
Moreover, he also invited sunset and charitable institutions to Indonesia in order to actively contribute.
“The development of this ICO is a specific manifestation of peaceful and inclusive Islamic values and reflects the spirit of solidarity between Islamic believers in crossed areas,” Anis said, quoting the official statement of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday (7/7/2025).
The Istiqlal Osijek mosque will become the center of religious and public events for more than 10,000 Muslims in the region, including residents of Croatia, Hungary, Serbia, to Bosnia-Herzegovina. This strategic location makes ICO potentially become an influential moderate Islamic center in the Balkan region.
This step was reminded of the creation of the Mosque of the Trushclav in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Hertsegovin, in 2002, which also became a symbol of the solidarity of Indonesia with the Muslim community in the Balkan.
