The Foreign Minister Servogyo appreciated the support of South Korea of the centrality of ASEAN, especially in maintaining the political stability and security of the region in the midst of global uncertainty.
He also emphasized the importance of peace and stability on the Korean peninsula, and also encouraged constant efforts to create a favorable situation and peaceful dialogue.
“ASEAN and South Korea must still remain positive for the region, supporting an open, inclusive and founded order through the mechanisms led by ASEAN,” said the Foreign Minister Servogyono.
At the ASEAN and South Korea forum, they agreed with the ASEAN -Office of the Korean action plan of 2026-2030 as a medium -term cooperation guide over the next five years. This cooperation includes various important areas, starting from sea, cybersecurity, digital transformation, to the control of natural disasters and cultural exchange.
The partnership in South Korea lasts more than three decades, and in October 2024 it was increased to a comprehensive strategic partnership. The South Korean delegation at this meeting was headed by the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Park Yongja.
