Indonesia subordinates Alexander Zverev to Russia, the first extradition of the two countries

Liputan6.com, jakarta – The Government of the Republic of Indonesia officially transferred citizens of the Russian Federation, Alexander Vladimirovich Zverev Pseudonym Alexander Vladimirovich Zverev, nicknamed Alexander Zverev (AVZ), the Government of the Russian Federation at the Sokarno Hutt airport, Thursday, July 10, 2025.

This representation was made as a subsequent request for extradition, presented by the Russian government of the Federation on June 29, 2022.

This extradition process was carried out on the basis of the provisions of Law No. 1 of 1979 regarding extradition, and after the issuance of the presidential resolution of Indonesia No. 12 of 2025 of 2025.

“The decision satisfied the request for extradition and appointed the Minister of Law of the Republic of Indonesia as the central authority to conduct Avs to the applicant,” said the general director of the General Administration (Dirden AHU), Vidodo.

This presidential decree was issued on the basis of reasons of the Minister of Law, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the head of the Indonesian National Police and the Prosecutor General of Indonesia.

Meanwhile, a series of AVZ performances began with the signing of the protocols for the implementation of the court ruling and the return of evidence to the district prosecutor’s office of the South Jakarta. Then followed the process of submitting the signing of the protocol by the Director General of the General Administration of Law (AHU) of the Ministry of Law (Kemienkum) and representatives of the Government of the Russian Federation.

The signing was attributed to the relevant ministries and institutions and was carried out in the Immigration Department of the class I Special TPI Soekarno-Shatta. Delivery to the AVZ to the Government of the Russian Federation was the first extradition carried out by the Indonesia Government to Russia.

“Although the extraction agreement between Indonesia and Russia is still in the process of ratification, the implementation of this extradition reflects joint commitment to the two countries in strengthening cooperation in law enforcement agencies,” said Vidodo.
