Inflation falls to 1.5% in September and records its lowest rate in three and a half years

THE inflation was reduced by eight tenths during the month of September to settle at 1.5%which means its lowest rate since March 2021three and a half years ago. This is clear from the Consumer Price Index (CPI) data published this Friday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

This is the largest drop in the inflation rate recorded over the past year, influenced by falling commodity prices. fuels and also that of food and the electricity.

In turn, the core inflation was reduced by three tenths compared to the August datauntil 2.4%.
