‘Inhabitable’, first album with pop rock tunes from Toledo singer-songwriter Nour

THE Bárbara Ballesteros, singer-songwriter from Toledo, better known as Nourreleases his first album this Tuesday under the name ‘Inhabitable’. These are five songs inhabited precisely by “quality, versatility and a new sound”, more in the orbit of pop rock, which distance the creative residence of this music from its solo acoustic origins in singles like ‘Pense à moi’ or ‘That little piece’.

In this new scene, the young composer – singer, pianist and co-producer – no longer resides alone on stage since she is now accompanied by a new band with Carlos Zaba on bass, also musical co-producer of the album, Marcos Ballester on guitar and Noe Hidalgo on drums.

In this way, he will electrify his music, giving a more powerful sound to the deep and at the same time everyday stories that Nour usually tells. From the first ‘Canción deforme’ – a sort of musical aperitif which already advances the theme and sound of the album – to ‘Café’ – a warm and melodic finale, which comforts like a welcoming musical closing -, the EP progresses during another three songs like “Morir en elACTo”, “Habitable” and “Caerá la luz”, with which we “feel musically at home”.

‘Morir en elACTo’ is probably the most complex song on the album as it plays with different textures and rhythms.. A true musical metaphor for a young woman’s search to find a place in today’s world, it offers a melody which also seeks a base in which to insert itself.

“Inhabitable” is the parent single and namesake of this EP. Recorded in August 2023, it is kilometer zero from which the rest of the creations depart musically and thematically like radio carts.

As for the luminous “Caerá la luz”, perhaps the most popular song on the album, it tells the story of three lifelong friends who live apart.. It begins, like existence itself: with a simple, almost childish musical cadence, then becomes more complex in a more pop style whose sole purpose is to be appreciated; to leave adversity behind to focus on the pleasure of being together listening to the song.

Nour and his group will present “Inhabitable” in the coming months during a tour which He is already planning to stop in Toledo, Madrid, Granada and Cuenca.
