Former Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov is accused of receiving bribes in exchange for preferences during the construction of three cadet corps, the damage to the state of which amounted to more than 2.18 billion rubles. Law enforcement agencies reported this to TASS on September 24.
“All buildings were built by the Olympsitistroy company under the direction of Alexandra Fominaaccused of giving a bribe to Ivanov. At these three sites, the total estimated cost of construction was 14 billion rubles, but during inspections, deficiencies and unfinished work in the amount of 2.184 billion rubles were identified.” – says the message.
According to investigators, Ivanov received a bribe for ensuring the conclusion of contracts on favourable terms for the Olimpsitistroy company. At the same time, the prices for the execution of contracts were artificially inflated.
Ivanov is accused of receiving a bribe worth 1.185 billion rubles. According to investigators, he participated in a criminal conspiracy with the heads of contracting organizations working at the Defense Ministry’s facilities and concluded contracts with them in exchange for illegal personal remuneration. On June 20, Ivanov was dismissed from his post.
Accounts, property and real estate belonging to the accused were seized. In addition, the court seized two cars and a motorcycle from the official, including a Chevrolet Suburban. In April, searches were carried out in Ivanov’s apartment. On September 24, it became known that the former deputy minister’s mansion near Moscow had been seized. Its estimated value is 1 billion rubles.
They were also arrested as part of the case. Sergei BorodinThe third person involved in the case, co-founder of Olympstroy LLC, Alexander Fomin, was also arrested.
On June 20, the court extended Ivanov’s arrest until September 23. Later, on August 5, former Deputy Defense Minister Ivanov asked to ease the preventive measure for him, since he has positive characteristics from his place of service, state awards and decorations, and also participates in hostilities, Izvestia recalls.
