Russia and Iran must help Syria avoid an escalation of the conflict with Israel, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at a press conference, according to the Haberturk television channel.
“It is imperative that Russia, Iran and Syria itself take more effective measures against this situation, which represents the greatest threat to the territorial integrity of Syria,” – said the Turkish leader.
“Today, effective use of diplomatic channels can prevent conflict escalation,” added Erdogan.
Israel periodically attacks Syria. On October 8, the Israeli army attacked a residential building in Damascus, killing seven people, including women and children, and wounding 11 more. Al Hadath wrote that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) attacked a building frequented by leaders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah.
