Iran challenges the West, freezing nuclear cooperation

Iran decided to freeze his cooperation with the International Agency for Nuclear Energy, in a new call of Western pressure on its nuclear program, a week after the ceasefire in the war with Israel.

Iranian President Masud Buchashyan signed a resolution approved by the decision of the parliament on the suspension of cooperation, which complicates the international tasks of verification, especially in the light of ambiguity associated with the fate of the enriched uranium reserve by 60 percent after American blows. The new law requires the approval of the Supreme Council of National Security for any future inspections.

The International Atomic Energy Agency stated that it accepted knowledge about the decision and expects official clarifications from Iran.

Tehran said that this step is aimed at protecting its nuclear rights in accordance with the distribution agreement. The Minister of Foreign Affairs Abbas Arakji, at a meeting with the Parliamentary National Security Committee, expressed his categorical support for not conducting any cooperation with an atomic agency.

On the other hand, Germany described the decision as a “catastrophic signal”, while Israel called for activation of the Snap Back mechanism for repeated sanctions against Iran, which should end in October. This step threatens to return Iran’s nuclear file to the UN Security Council.
