Iran fears Trump’s return to power: media

Iran and its allies are preparing for the possible return of Donald Trump to the White House, fearing that this will bring new challenges. According to sources, Tehran is concerned that Trump could increase pressure on the country, allow Israel to attack Iranian nuclear facilities and renew tough sanctions, especially in the oil sector.

Reuters reports this.

Political analysts believe Trump will try to put maximum pressure on Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei to agree to a nuclear deterrent treaty on US or Israeli terms. Such a change in US leadership could significantly affect the balance of power in the Middle East and change the course of Iran’s foreign policy.

While the odds of victory between Trump and his potential rival Kamala Harris remain low, Iranian proxy forces in Lebanon, Iraq and Yemen are already cautious. Experts believe that Trump will become a more “threatening” president for Iran due to his full support for Israel. The head of the Gulf Research Center think tank, Abdelaziz al-Sager, said Trump could present ultimatums to Iran or allow Israel to carry out targeted strikes against Iranian targets.

Experts believe that support for Israel will become a key aspect of Trump’s Middle East policy. A researcher on Islamic movements noted that if Trump returns, Iran will be under much more pressure than under the current administration.

Previously, Kursor wrote that Iran is planning an attack on Israel using more powerful weapons.

Iran is reportedly preparing a “powerful, multi-level response.”
