Iran prepares to attack Israel – John Kirby

US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said Iran is actively preparing to attack Israel.

Channel 12 reports this.

In response to these alarming signals, Washington sent a message to Tehran categorically demanding that it refrain from attacking. The White House stressed that there is no justification for starting a regional conflict that could destabilize the situation in the Middle East.

The US side also stated that despite the warnings, they remain convinced that Iran continues to prepare for an attack. In this regard, the United States maintains a high level of readiness of its forces in the region to respond quickly to any potential threat. Washington has made it clear to Tehran that if Israel is attacked, the United States will be ready to defend its ally.

Earlier, Kursor reported that the media assessed the readiness of Iran and Hezbollah terrorists for a full-scale war with Israel.

Hezbollah’s response to the killing of senior member of the organization Fuad Shukr turned out to be much smaller than expected. Despite repeated threats of major retaliation, the Lebanese Shiite group and its Iranian backer have been reluctant to enter into a full-scale conflict with Israel at this stage. Tehran reportedly decided to postpone its response to the killing of Hamas terrorist group leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, and Hezbollah limited itself to symbolic attacks, avoiding further escalation.

As part of its response, Hezbollah attempted to attack strategic targets in Israel, including the Mossad headquarters and Unit 8200, responsible for signals intelligence for the Israel Defense Forces. Both targets, located near Tel Aviv, were not damaged as the strikes missed their target. Some 230 rockets and 20 drones were fired at northern Israel, damaging homes, killing an Israeli sailor and creating tension in the region.

In response to Hezbollah’s attacks, the IDF continues active military operations in Lebanon. The Israeli Air Force attacked rocket launchers in southern Lebanon, killing six Hezbollah fighters. IDF Colonel Anan Abbas noted that Hezbollah was surprised by the scale and precision of the Israeli strikes, which could have long-term strategic consequences.

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said in his latest speech that daytime missile launches could be considered a sufficient response to Shuqr’s death. It appears that the organization will decide to refrain from further escalation, realizing that an all-out war with Israel at this stage is not profitable. This reflects the desire of both Hezbollah and Iran to avoid direct military conflict, preferring long and grueling campaigns.

However, recent events have exposed the vulnerabilities of Iran and its allies in conventional military operations. While Israel has demonstrated its superiority in intelligence and airstrikes, Iran and Hezbollah have been unable to mount effective resistance at this level, highlighting their strategic weaknesses despite successes in other areas.

However, the problem of constant missile attacks on Israel’s northern borders remains unresolved. Hezbollah continues to attack, making normal life in the border areas almost impossible. Although Israel has not yet found a definitive answer to this threat, its ability to carry out surgical strikes against key targets inside enemy territory could change the balance of power in the conflict in the future.
