Iran rejects Tehran’s links to Hamas attack in Israel on October 7: ‘These are fabricated documents’

Iran’s permanent mission to the United Nations assured this Saturday that Tehran has no connection with “Al Aqsa Storm” operation led by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) against Israel in October last year, saying claims to the contrary “have no credibility” and are based on “invented documents”.

“While Hamas officials stationed in Doha themselves stated that they too had no prior knowledge of the operation and that all planning, decision-making and direction was carried out solely by the military wing of Hamas based in Gaza, any claim attempts to link it to Iran or Hezbollah – whether partially or totally – lack of credibility and comes from invented documents”, indicated the mission in a press release collected by the IRNA agency.

These statements come after several American media, including The New York Times, refers to alleged documents obtained by the Israeli military which included details of Operation “Al Aqsa Storm”, which took place on October 7, 2023.

The aforementioned writings argue that Hamas planned to attack Israel as early as 2022.but who postponed the aggression for a year to try to obtain the support of the Iranian authorities and the Lebanese Shiite militia Hezbollah, for which the two parties would have met on several occasions.

This This is not the first time that the Iranian government has disengaged of the aggression carried out by Hamas a year ago, since Tehran has repeatedly said that it had no prior knowledge of the offensive, guaranteeing that it was an “entirely Palestinian operation” .

The authorities of the Gaza Strip, controlled by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), This Friday, the toll rose to 42,175 already more than 98,300 injured by the offensive launched by Israel after the attacks of October 7, 2023, which left around 1,200 dead and around 250 kidnapped on Israeli territory.
