“Iran will support any peace initiative for a ceasefire in the Middle East if there is a simultaneous ceasefire in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.”
Oku.Az ISNA reports that this was stated by the head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Abbas Araghchi.
“Speaking of the ceasefire in Lebanon, I have already discussed this issue with my Lebanese colleagues and we continue our relations with other countries. Iran will support any efforts to achieve peace only if, first, the rights of the Lebanese people are fully respected. In Secondly, at the same time in Gaza it is necessary to achieve a ceasefire,” the diplomat stated.
Aragchi added that Tehran supports Beirut and will continue to do so. He also expressed confidence that the Lebanese people will defeat Israel.
