Oku.AzAccording to TASS, these remarks were made by Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Ahmadian at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“Mr. Pezeshkian has no intention of changing the approach towards Russia that was formed during the time of the previous president. I have spoken with him several times, he is focused on maintaining and further developing relations,” Ahmadian said.
The Security Council president also said that his Iranian counterpart and Iran’s supreme religious leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, conveyed his greetings and good wishes to the Russian head of state.
It should be noted that on September 7, Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali said that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will participate in the BRICS summit in Kazan in October and that his meeting with Putin is planned there.
