Iraqi security forces supported Hezbollah and are recruiting “volunteers” for the war in Lebanon

Armed movements have been observed in eastern Syria over the past 48 hours, raising fears that militants may intervene in Lebanon or prepare to engage in fighting in the region. According to sources associated with the Iraqi militias, this is due to recent events surrounding Hezbollah, especially following the assassination of its leader Hassan Nasrallah. Israelhayom reports.

Additionally, an office was opened in Iraq to recruit volunteers willing to join the fighting in Lebanon in support of Hezbollah. Senior members of the Iraqi militia Sayed al-Shuhada have said they are ready to provide assistance on the ground in Lebanon following the assassination of Nasrallah.

Meanwhile, in southern Lebanon, Shiite militants were documented taking over a luxury building in Beirut. Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar reported that Hezbollah’s leadership decided to enter a “silence phase” to prevent the spread of information that is not related to the organization’s actual plans and actions.

Previously, Kursor reported that the head of Hezbollah’s media service, Mohammad Afif, falsely claimed that not a single Israeli soldier entered Lebanese territory. He also warned that the group’s attacks in Tel Aviv hours earlier were “just the beginning.” In a written statement to Reuters, Afif said Hezbollah had not engaged in “direct ground engagements” with IDF troops but was prepared to do so.
