According to Xezerxeber.az, they sell this product openly under the name “medicine for various diseases.” We contacted one of those people. It says that it is possible to receive the products by delivery.
According to doctors, in countries where the sale of this plant is allowed, its oil and seeds are also sold. Allergist Shahvalad Mammadov stated that this product is accepted abroad as a food supplement only under the supervision of a doctor.
The Center of Analytical Expertise of the Ministry of Health reported that the sale of the product as a medicine is prohibited in Azerbaijan.
On the subject, the Ministry of the Interior highlighted that it is prohibited to illegally prepare, produce, acquire, store, transport, send or sell narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their precursors in the country’s territory. Those who commit this act incur criminal liability. The illegal cultivation of plants that contain narcotic substances is also a crime.
Although the matter was reportedly investigated by the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency, no response was received after two days.
