Is partial and flexible temporary disability viable?

From the moment Minister Elma Saiz suggested the possibility of a new regulation of Temporary Incapacity with flexible forms of partial and progressive integration into work activity, two completely opposite debate frames have emerged.

While solid arguments have been deployed in different areas of health in favor of this possibility for cases of long-term disability – in cases, among others, of musculoskeletal, oncological or mental illnesses – the employers’ association CEOE is ready to establish its preferred mental framework, that of reducing what is described as “massive absenteeism”.
