Like every year, in some schools the fundraising process has begun on the occasion of Teacher’s Day, on October 5.
However, the Ministry of Science and Education has sent instructions to schools regarding this year’s significant day.
It was stated that it is unacceptable for parents to give material and immaterial gifts, valuables, collect money for this purpose, etc.
This time, students were asked to collect 20 manats at school number 136 named after RMSadigov, in the Bina settlement, Khazar district, Baku, in connection with International Teacher’s Day. The money is raised by the school’s class 1B parent committee through the “WhatsApp” group.
The parents of that class complained to Bizim.Media about this.
According to their report, they are fed up with regular fundraising at the school. They claimed that the school raises money every year on Teacher’s Day. In addition, they recently asked them for money for repairs.
The interesting thing is that the chairman of the parents’ committee, in the audio recording he sent to the “WhatsApp” group, got angry with the parents who did not pay, saying that 20 manats was actually a very small amount, and even insulted those who objected in a tone that would embarrass and humiliate them.
We contacted the Baku City Department of Education about the issue. The institution said that the issue will be investigated.
