On Wednesday, September 18, a new series of explosions involving communications equipment occurred in Lebanon. At least nine people were killed and 300 others were injured, according to a provisional report released shortly before 6:00 p.m. by the Lebanese Ministry of Health.
The explosions occurred in particular in the southern suburbs of Beirut, in the Bekaa plain, in the district of Saïda (Sidon) and in the Baalbek region in the east of the country.
One day after an attack attributed to Israel, which detonated thousands of pagers across the country, the walkie-talkies of Hezbollah members are this time particularly affected, according to several sources close to the Lebanese Shiite movement and from security sources to news agencies.
