“Israel attacked 14 Iranian oil tankers to stop oil exports.”
Oku.Az The commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (SEPAH, the elite units of the Iranian Armed Forces), Lieutenant General Hossein Salami, made the statement, referring to Iran’s Tasnim news agency.
“To prevent the export of Iranian oil, 14 ships were attacked in the Red and Mediterranean Seas. We discovered that the Zionist regime (i.e. Israel – ed.) was behind this and 12 of its ships were shot down,” Salami said.
He stressed that SEPAH was able to guarantee the safety of the shipping lines and that the implementation of the embargo was violated.
The commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps did not say exactly when Israel carried out the attacks on the Iranian ships and who carried out the attacks on the Israeli ships.
