The European Commission releases 10 million euros in aid to Lebanon
The European institution announced in a press release on Monday morning that it would provide aid to Lebanon of 10 million euros. “This emergency funding aims to address the most urgent needs, such as protection, food assistance, shelter and healthcare. The European Union is ready to provide additional support by mobilizing all available emergency response tools, including through the use of the Civil Protection Mechanism. »
The European Commission also announces that it has paid, in 2024, €74 million in humanitarian aid, including this allocation, to help vulnerable populations in Lebanon.
Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister of Foreign Affairs, who is currently traveling in Lebanon, yesterday delivered emergency health aid to the Lebanese Minister of Health, Firass Abiad, who “grateful” for this “donation of 11 and a half tons”.
