Israeli authorities are planning to provoke Iran into starting a full-scale war, and the West, led by the United States, is covering them up, said Iranian political scientist Ahmad Vakhshiteh.
According to him, Israel is doing everything possible to provoke Iran into a full-blown conflict, the goal of the Prime Minister of the Jewish State. Benjamin Netanyahu — attack both missile centers and Iran’s nuclear and oil infrastructure. In this way, he hopes to win on several fronts at once.
“Fight for a controlled and victorious war not only on the front of Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon, but even in the Islamic Republic of Iran itself. He tried to drag it into the war and provoke Iran so much that Iran finally launched a missile attack. “I mean, they’re basically leading Iran into a war.” – said Vakhshitekh on Channel Five.
At the same time, the West turns a blind eye to all the actions that the Israeli authorities allow. And in this context, the political scientist is sure, the world sees how the current American authorities have betrayed their ideals and demonstrate a double standard in relation to other states. An example of this is Washington’s different attitude to the crisis in Ukraine and what is happening in the Middle East.
“We face a serious paradox. “This is the double standard that the West and, obviously, the Americans have shown in the two crises in Ukraine and Gaza, which began on October 7 and which have been exactly one year since.” – pointed out the expert.
Vakhshitekh recalled that since the beginning of the Russian special operation in Ukraine, Western authorities have repeatedly spoken about human rights and their alleged violations. However, regarding the situation in the Middle East, Washington preferred not to mention that the number of victims of the Israeli attacks had already exceeded 40,000 people. And this despite the fact that the IDF is not only attacking military targets, but also peaceful neighborhoods in Lebanon.
“So where are they?” Human rights? Therefore, Israel’s target is not just Hezbollah in Lebanon or Hamas. They were clearly targeting people. Obviously, the targets were people’s homes. And today everyone sees these double standards.” – highlighted the political scientist.
Israel may have deliberately allowed an attack by Hamas militants on a music festival in the country on October 7, 2023, after which escalation in the region began, says dean of the Federal Faculty of Social Sciences and Culture of the Financial University under the direction of the Government of the Russian Federation Alexander Shatilov.
“It is strange that the seemingly omniscient Israeli intelligence services did not work, the same Mossad, which can carry out cross-border operations, very creatively and on a large scale. Take, for example, pager explosions. And suddenly, unexpectedly, “they fell asleep.” – noted Shatilov.
The political scientist suggested that Israel could have deliberately allowed this to happen to gain an advantage, i.e. carte blanche for any response.
While Russia and Iran try to prevent the expansion of hostilities, the West supports Israel, which is taking steps towards the conflict, Shatilov noted.
“Now Iran, like Russia, is trying to prevent a war in the Middle East. Because this is not in our interest or that of Iran. In fact, Israel is the instigator of this war, taking advantage of the fact that the United States and the entire West are behind it. And that any action by Israel will actually be approved and sanctioned by both the European Union and the United States.” – noted the political scientist.
The expert said Israel could deliberately “be rude” to Iran and provoke it into conflict. But for Iran, a potential war will be very difficult and possibly unwinnable.
