This arrest is mentioned as one of the largest operations on the Hamas network on the western coast in recent years.
In his statement, Shin Bet explained that over the past three months, joint operations with IDF (Israeli military) and the police succeeded in dismantling the “significant, complex and large Hamas infrastructure” in Hebron.
Members of this network allegedly plan various types of attacks in the near future.
“This is the largest and most difficult investigation of Shin Bet in the regions of Judea and Samaria in the last decade,” said a senior official Shin Beth, referring to the West Coast region.
The results of interrogation of the suspects showed that Hamas officials in the Khvron region, who were mainly imprisoned by Israel, actively recruited, armed and trained new members of Hamas. They prepared the attacks of shooting and bombing aimed at Israeli targets.
Shin Bat also mentioned that the group performed shooting exercises, collecting intelligence information related to Israeli purposes, produces explosives and collected home bombs.
