Israel eliminates head of Hezbollah’s communications department in Beirut

During an Israeli Air Force attack on Beirut on October 3, the head of the Hezbollah movement’s communications networks department, Mohammed Rashid Saqafi, was killed. This was stated by the press service of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

“On Thursday, the Israeli Air Force carried out an intelligence-led precision strike in the Beirut area, killing Mohammed Rashid Saqafi, head of the communications networks department of the terrorist organization Hezbollah.” – says the statement, reports TASS.

According to Israel, Saqafi “has been in charge of managing Hezbollah’s communications networks since 2000.”

“As part of his role, Saqafi made significant efforts to develop communications capabilities between all Hezbollah units during all periods of operations in order to maintain the flow of information throughout the terrorist organization.” – noted the press service.

He clarified that Hezbollah’s communications networks directorate is “responsible for the continuous flow of information within the organization, as well as the development, maintenance and use of communications networks during routine and emergency operations.”
