Israel kills 18 in new attack in northern Lebanon

The Lebanese National News Agency (ANN) emphasizes that this is the first Israeli bombing against the town of Aitou, belonging to the district of Zgharta, and adds that the attack targeted a residential apartment, while the media Locals report that the property had recently been rented. .

The town’s mayor told Reuters the building had been rented to house displaced families.

In early October, an Israeli bombardment hit the outskirts of Tripoli for the first time, specifically targeting the Beddawi Palestinian refugee camp, where a Hamas official was killed along with other members of his family.

Israel has focused its attacks mainly on Shiite-majority areas of southern and eastern Lebanon, but has recently begun hitting other communities in the Mediterranean country, where 18 sects of different signs and religions coexist.

Israel’s massive bombing campaign, which began in late September, has already killed more than 2,200 people and forced more than 1.2 million people to leave their homes to flee the violence, according to data provided by the Lebanese government. .
