Israel has signed a deal to buy 25 new-generation F-15 fighter jets from Boeing Co (BA.N).

The $5.2 billion deal is said to be part of a broader US aid package approved by the US administration and Congress earlier this year.
The Ministry reported that the delivery of new F-15IA aircraft will begin in 2031 and between 4 and 6 aircraft will be delivered per year.
The aircraft will be equipped with weapons systems integrated with existing Israeli weapons, in addition to having a greater range and payload.
“These advantages will allow the Israeli Air Force to maintain its strategic advantage in addressing current and future problems in the Middle East,” the ministry said in a statement.
“This F-15 squadron, along with the third F-35 squadron acquired earlier this year, represents a historic increase in our airpower and strategic capabilities, which are decisive in the current war,” said Eyal Zamir, director general of the Ministry. of Defense.
According to Zamir, the government has signed procurement contracts worth almost $40 billion since the war in Gaza began on October 7, 2023.
“While we are focused on immediate needs for advanced weapons and ammunition, we are also investing in long-term strategic opportunities,” he said.
