The northern Gaza Strip has experienced absolute terror over the past 23 days: Israel killed around 1,000 people. Despair grips Gazans as a new attempt at a ceasefire takes place at a high-level meeting in Doha (Qatar).
It had been two months since the parties sat down to talk.Today, the Israeli negotiating delegation in Doha is giving “positive” signals that a possible truce in the Gaza Strip would also lead to a cessation of hostilities and a “political agreement” in Lebanon. However, the reality in northern Gaza is devastating since in just 23 days, Israel has killed nearly 1,000 people in a land and air offensive, according to the strip’s health authorities.
Zina’s father is one example of the harshness of the situation. The man, collapsed and broken by pain, carries her in his arms and refuses to say goodbye. The little girl was waiting in line to buy cookies when the Israeli army ended his life.
But Zina is not the only innocent life Israel has taken. Many of these children took refuge in the camp Chatithat Tel Aviv bombed indiscriminately in its desire to devastate northern Gaza. A north where they are still stuck under bombs 100,000 people who resisted undertake a new exodus like hundreds of families.
“They forced us to go to the west of Gaza. We left. We walked, crawled, us and our children,” said Amna Mustafa, a displaced woman in Jabalia.
