When attacking Beirut, Israel used American Jdam munitions. The British newspaper The Guardian writes about this, citing an analysis of the discovered fragments.
As reported in a foreign publication, parts of American direct destruction ammunition were found in a collapsed residential building. Human Rights Watch’s Crisis, Conflict, and Weapons Division and a former U.S. military explosives expert conducted an analysis of the remains.
“The location of the bolts, their position and the shape of the remnant correspond to the tail stabilizer of the American Jdam guidance kit for Mk80 series air-launched munitions.” — the newspaper quotes Richard Weir, senior researcher in the Crisis, Conflict and Arms Division of Human Rights Watch.
The Jdam are guidance kits created by the American aerospace company Boeing that attach to large bombs weighing up to 900 kg, turning them into GPS-guided bombs, the publication clarified.
