The Israeli army announced on Friday, September 20, that it had “deleted” Ibrahim Aqil, leader of the Radwan Force, Hezbollah’s elite unit, and ten other military leaders of the Lebanese movement in a “targeted attack” on the southern outskirts of Beirut, which the organization did not confirm.
On Wednesday 18 September, a second series of explosions involving communication equipment took place in Lebanon. At least twenty people were killed and 450 others were injured, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health. The explosions occurred in particular in the southern suburbs of Beirut, in the Bekaa plain, in the district of Saïda (Sidon) and in the Baalbek region in the east of the country.
A day after an attack attributed to Israel, which detonated thousands of pagers across the country, it was the walkie-talkies of Hezbollah members that were this time affected, according to several sources close to the Lebanese Shiite movement and security sources who told news agencies.
