The Afghan Taliban has strongly condemned recent Israeli attacks on military targets in Iran, warning that such actions could worsen the situation and increase tensions in the Middle East.
This was reported by The Times Of Israel.
In a statement, Afghanistan’s Foreign Ministry described the attacks as a step toward escalating violence in the region, which could further complicate the situation.
Let us remember that Israel launched attacks early this morning, concentrating them on strategic military installations in Iran.
The operation came weeks after a massive attack on Israel with ballistic missiles from the Islamic Republic.
The Israeli military said its air force carried out surgical strikes against key Iranian military facilities, including factories and drone and missile launch sites, as well as air defense systems.
Previously, Kursor wrote that Israel demonstrated to Iran the ability to easily overcome its air defense systems.
On Saturday, the Israeli Air Force carried out a unique operation, conducting precision strikes against approximately 20 military targets in Iran. The attack, which lasted about four hours, was aimed at destroying Iran’s air defense system and missile production facilities. According to Israel Ziv, former director of operations for the Israel Defense Forces, the operation was a “historic” event because it demonstrated Israel’s ability to operate effectively at a significant distance of 1,600 kilometers from its territory and into Iranian territory.
Iranian authorities confirmed the attack but said damage was “minor.” Iran has not yet expressed direct threats in response, which may indicate its reluctance to escalate the situation. However, experts believe that Iran may continue to try to attack Israel or its foreign interests in the long term.
Despite the severe damage that Israeli forces inflicted on Iranian defenses, Iran’s nuclear program was not affected, limiting the strategic impact of the operation, as Iran continues to consider the destruction of Israel as one of its objectives.
US President Joe Biden has expressed hope that Israel’s actions will help reduce violence, but doubts remain that they will lead to significant changes. Iran’s policy toward Israel remains tough and Tehran is likely to continue trying to harm Israeli interests, which remains a risk of further escalation.
