Israeli expert Yigal Levin commented on reports about Ukraine’s possible use of American ATACMS ballistic missiles to attack Russian territory.

According to Ukrainian sources, the attack was carried out against the arsenal of the 67th GRAU in the Bryansk region, where a powerful explosion actually occurred.
Levin recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin had previously said that the use of such missiles would be considered a declaration of war between Russia and the United States. However, according to the expert, there was no real action from the Kremlin, which calls into question Putin’s determination and ability to respond to this challenge.
Levin also noted that Ukraine has its own missile production and announced the production of up to 100 units per year.
According to him, Russia will find it difficult to prove that the attacks were carried out specifically with American weapons, because they could have been Ukrainian missiles, such as the Neptunes or Sapsan. He highlighted that such actions by the United States and Ukraine demonstrate strategic complexity and prudence in conflict management.
The expert added that the Kremlin is making significant efforts to expel Ukrainian troops from border regions such as Kursk. This, according to Levin, indicates Putin’s desire to limit military operations to the territory of Ukraine at the time of Donald Trump’s possible return to power in order to save face in the international community.
Furthermore, Levin suggested that the American elite is using the current situation to further discredit Putin. He described it as a multi-step strategy, as a result of which the Russian leader is exposed as an insolvent administrator, unable to control the situation in his area of responsibility.
The expert believes that Ukraine should take advantage of this situation to maximize its position in the confrontation with Russia.
