Israeli tanks entered the territory of the UN peacekeeping base in Lebanon

The Israeli army attacked the peacekeeping base of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).

Oku.Az According to RBC, the mission reported about this on its “Telegram” channel.

We are talking about the Ramya base in southern Lebanon, where Israel’s ground operation against Hezbollah has continued since early October.

“At around 4:30 am, while the peacekeepers were in the shelters, two IDF Merkava tanks broke through the main gate of the position and entered. They repeatedly asked the base to turn off the lights. UNIFIL, via of our communication mechanism, said that the presence of the IDF endangered the peacekeepers. About 45 minutes after the protest, the tanks left the scene,” the mission said.

At approximately 6:40 a.m., peacekeepers there reported that several shots were fired 100 meters to the north, causing smoke to rise. Due to smoke entering the base, 15 UNIFIL soldiers developed skin irritation and gastrointestinal reactions. They are currently being treated.

It should be noted that peacekeepers reported four incidents in four days involving the mission and the Israeli army.
