Israel’s retaliation attack on Iran: media reported progress in negotiations with the United States

Israel and the United States have made significant progress in negotiations on a possible military operation against Iran. The progress followed a telephone conversation between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Joe Biden on Wednesday. It was the leaders’ first direct contact since August and marked the final stage of two weeks of consultations between the two countries.

Israeli journalist Barak Ravid writes about this in Walla.

The main topic of discussion was Israel’s actions in response to the Iranian missile attack on October 1. Before the call, Biden and Netanyahu, their national security advisers Jake Sullivan and Ron Dermer, reviewed Israel’s operational plans in detail. During the call, the presidents confirmed many of the agreements reached by their teams.

U.S. officials have noted that concerns about Israeli actions have now eased, but note that some differences between the countries remain. American sources believe that the parties are moving in the right direction, although Israel still intends to respond harsher than expected in the White House.

Consultations between the United States and Israel will continue in the coming days. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant is expected to visit Washington to meet with his American counterparts and discuss next steps.

Previously, Kursor reported that Iran sent a strong signal to Arab countries.

Iran threatens Arab countries with “serious consequences” if they help Israel retaliate against Iranian targets.
