Valencian influencer Jesús Soriano, better known as “Soy Camarero”, has caused a new controversy on social networks with the publication of an employee’s conversation with his manager, to whom he asks for a day off due to the death of his grandmothera request that the latter questions and tries to justify its rejection.
While black and white appears on the WhatsApp screenshot that Soriano shares, the manager begins the conversation by offering his condolences and continues to ask him what he thinks about a previous message that the employee said about his health condition. “”Are you going to quit your job?” he asks.
Faced with this situation, the server tells him no, but that he wants to know if he can take a day off accumulated during his service, to which the first responds that “Today it is not possible” Far from ceasing his efforts, he attached a screenshot with the legal explanation of the authorization for the death of a second-degree relative, to which the manager of the hotel establishment replied that he had to prove the death of his grandmother.
“I also know that I need the receipts and death documents of the loved one, I know that it is a choice of the person who will attend the funeral or morgue “if necessary,” he explains and immediately the worker tells him that he will send him all the necessary reports.
From that moment on, the controversy that the case sparked on social networks intensified, as the manager spoke of the “commitment” that he “expects in return” from all his employees. “It happened to me already more than one person I work with too and we all went to work“, continues.
“And even if you don’t have a vacation and you have to go on a trip to see your grandmother, you would have it too if you asked me. You have the right to take it if you have to attend an event. Are you going to attend it? Because otherwise, it has no value,” he said, ending again with “so, are you going to quit your job?”
Due to the commotion this has caused “Good empathy and humanism towards the worker,” said ‘Soy Camarero’, whose followers supported the affected employee: “So if we don’t understand why we can’t find staff“.
