Alberto Nuñez Feijóopresident of the PP, spoke ‘The Confidential’ where he recognized what in his opinion was the error of Carlos Mazonpresident of the Valencian Community, in your management of DANA. For the leader of the popular parties, Mazón failed “by thinking or believing that his presence was not necessary” at CECOPI.
This is how the leader of the Popular Party expressed himself: “It is obvious that it was a mistake, thinking or believing that your presence was not necessary. However, I said that we were facing a national emergency, that no president of any autonomous community could have managed this and that the only information he had was that which had been given to him by the organs of exclusive competence of the State”.
Feijóo, in addition, also highlighted Mazón’s words when he said that “he will not run” for re-election “if he does not manage to recover” from Valencia, but he reminded him of one thing: “It is the party which has the power to propose candidates to the presidency of the Autonomous Communities.
“What Mazón said was that he left his office with a warning from the State Meteorological Agency which stated that, at 6:00 p.m., DANA would move north. That he was in contact at all times with those responsible for CECOPI, organ of which it is not a part”Feijóo remarked.
In his words, he also spoke about how DANA affects his party: “Yes, the PP mark has been damaged. And the PSOE brand. We are the two parties that govern. The PP, in the Autonomous Communities; the PSOE, with Sánchez, in the Spanish government”.
Feijóo, in this sense, sent a message to the PSOE regarding aid to the Valencian Community: “It is obvious that the government abstained. Mazón has proven his mistakes. The President of the Government is responsible for the national emergency, whether he declares it or not. “He is responsible for prevention, for the warnings that he ignored for more than two and a half hours and he is responsible for the inaction and evasion of all the ministers who had exclusive jurisdiction over floods.”
“Sánchez is the weakest president in democracy”
The leader of the PP, in his statements to ‘El Confidencial’, also mentioned the accusations made by Víctor de Aldama against the government and against the PSOE: “There are signs of criminal behavior.”
“He is the weakest president of the democracy and the most prone to blackmail. Such serious accusations cannot remain in the silence of a president of the government. We are at the start of a legal ordeal for Sánchez”Feijoo concludes.
