Italy-Azerbaijan round table held – Oxu.az

Within the framework of the business visit of the President of Azerbaijan to Italy, an Italy-Azerbaijan round table was held with the support of the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy of Italy, the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan, the Agency for Export and Investment Promotion – AZPROMO and the Confederation of Italian Industry (“Confindustria”).

Oku.Az He said that the event was attended by around 40 businessmen working in the energy, chemical industry, automobile manufacturing, engineering, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, metallurgy, construction, food and other fields, along with officials from both countries.

Minister of Economy Mikail Jabbarov noted that the relations between our countries are of a strategic nature and stressed that Italy is Azerbaijan’s largest trading partner. It was stated that our country attaches great importance to strengthening multifaceted economic cooperation with Italy and, as a result of this, numerous Italian companies successfully operate in various sectors of the country’s economy, including in the territories liberated from occupation. It was stressed that the discussions and agreements reached at the round table will further strengthen our relations and open up new opportunities.

At the round table, Italian companies and Minister of Made in Italy Adolfo Urso and President of the Italian Confederation of Industry Emanuele Orsini discussed the strategic energy partnership between Azerbaijan and Italy and the possibilities of developing bilateral relations in the non-oil field.

At the event, Yusif Abdullayev, CEO of AZPROMO, Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Small and Medium-sized Business Development Agency, Ulvi Mansurov, CEO of Azerbaijan Investment Company, Elkin Nurmammadov, Vice-Rector of ADA University, provided information on Azerbaijan’s export and investment potential, shared useful activities and promising projects. In addition, strengthening cooperation in industry, renewable energy, infrastructure, transport, textile, chemical, pharmaceutical and other priority sectors was discussed, and representatives of companies from both countries shared their views on establishing and developing business partnerships.

The event was attended by the Export and Investment Promotion Agency – AZPROMO and the Confederation of Italian Industry (Confindustria), the Italian company Dromont Comec with the company “Matanat A”, the Italian company “Leonardo Electronics” with “Improtex Industries” LLC, the Italian company “Visionnaire” with the company “Saloglu” – Memoranda of Understanding were signed between the companies “IPA” and “Biesse SPA”. The documents cover such areas as implementation of new joint production and service projects, research and development, and exchange of experience.

Within the framework of the visit, meetings were held between members of the Azerbaijani delegation and representatives of the Italian Trade Agency, Annatura, a company specializing in agricultural and food technologies, Scorpio Group and the Italian agricultural organization Coldiretti, and prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation were discussed.

“During the Italy-Azerbaijan round table, documents were signed covering such areas as the creation of new joint production and service areas, the implementation of research and development projects and the exchange of experience.”

Oku.Az reports that Economy Minister Mikail Jabbarov shared this on his account on the social network “X”.

“The implementation of the documents will promote innovation and strengthen economic growth, as well as enhance bilateral relations between our countries,” the minister said.

“The Italy-Azerbaijan round table was held within the framework of the Head of State’s business visit to Italy, one of Azerbaijan’s main trading partners.”
