Italian Prime Minister Coria Meloni has accepted the resignation of Culture Minister Gennaro Sanculiano.

Meloni thanked Sanculiano, whom he described as a competent and honest person, for his great work as Italian Minister of Culture and announced that he had accepted his resignation.
He added that he had appointed the new head of the Ministry of Culture, Alessandro Guli.
Sanculiano shared the Italian prime minister’s message on social media, but did not comment on his resignation.
It should be noted that the former minister previously admitted that he tried to appoint Maria Rosaria Boccia, an influencer with whom he was in a relationship and went on business trips, as a consultant to the Italian Ministry of Culture.
In the face of the scandal, Sanculiano said that he had asked the Prime Minister to resign, but he had not accepted it.
