Vicente Moreno appeared at a press conference this Friday with the mission of analyzing the duel that his team, Osasuna, will play this Saturday against Valladolid. Even if what is least on the Valencian coach’s mind is sport. He is from Massanassa, one of the towns most affected by the DANA tragedy.
The coach, completely excited, interrupted the start of the press conference to send a message to his compatriots. “Let me first. “Afterwards, we talk about football as we want, but I just wanted…” said Moreno, who needed a few seconds to articulate his words and burst into tears: “I don’t know if I I’ll be able to.”
“I would like to send all my encouragement and solidarity to all those affected by this disaster. To all those who have lost loved ones and who will allow me a few words towards my land, Valencia. Especially in the region of L’Horta Sud, very close to Massanassa,” he continued between emotional pauses.
“It’s very hard for them, as well as for those of us who are far away and have family and friends there. It’s very hard not being able to be there with them. I just want to send a message of strength. We are hard-working people and, although it may seem difficult, we will all get through this together,” he concluded.
