The singer Rozalén traveled to her hometown, Letur (Albacete), to show your support and support your neighbors after the tragedy caused by DANA. The interpreter greeted the mayor, Sergio Marín, and pointed out that “there, it’s not Rozalén, there, it’s Maria Ángeles, one more.”
“The flood carried away everything before it, everything where it passed. All. He divided the city in two starting from the White Cross, which is no longer there either. He demolished buildings, raised roads, gardens. The Canales (the natural swimming pool) and so many other things no longer exist… It’s hard to understand it without seeing it and it’s hard to see it without falling apart,” Rozalén says. in a moving testimony posted on their social networks.
From her lyrics, it is clear that the singer is deeply affected by what happened. “I had not spoken for two days, with terrible helplessness. Like everyone else outside the city. I could not sleep a wink, but all this is also general”, writes Rozalén, who assures that when she withdrew Letur felt “a strange relief… even if it was just to cry together”. “We look at each other and we kiss, without speaking,” he says.
Letur will resurface
Visiting the city and seeing the desolation caused by the waterspout also leaves room for disbelief. “Letur is the beautiful spa town of the Sierra del Segura. And one day, our vital resource, bombards you like a war enemy. »says the composer, convinced that the city “will once again be ‘the place of our recreation’, our ‘then'”. “I assure you that the aroma of fire, rosemary, thyme and lavender will return. Or I assure you that the people of Leture have awesome strength. They know what it is to resist and rise again .”
But, at this moment, “A chest pain is above all else,” Rozalén says in reference to the deceased woman and the five people still missing. “In such a small town, what happens to everyone happens to everyone. We want only those who are not localized to appear. Only that,” he emphasizes.
Likewise, Rozalén has words of gratitude for all those who are concerned about what happened and are offering help. “The truth is that it is relieving. All the good is impressive despite the immense tragedy”, underlines the singer from Albacete who hopes that “All the help promised by the institutions will arrive. I hope people will not forget when this stops being heard.”
