From the Enlightenment to modernitywhich addresses the transformation of people’s public image during the 19th century with works of all techniques and formats, from Goya to painters such as Federico de Madrazo, Eduardo Rosales, Ignacio Pinazo and Joaquin Sorolla.
This exhibition can be visited until March 2, 2025The works exhibited there offer the possibility of entering, through a genre of capital importance in Spanish painting, into the era that saw the birth of the economic and social structures that have shaped our contemporaneity.
For its part, the exhibition ‘Comic. Dreams and history’ will arrive on April 9th and will remain so until August 31, 2025. On this occasion, the objective is to reappropriate this art as a tool for reflecting on the present and the future, and as a powerful means of creating parallel realities, imaginary worlds, utopias and dystopias.
This artistic proposal presents the work of great universal masters as well as classics of Spanish comics, which have counted on internationally renowned scriptwriters and illustrators.
In addition, from July 3, 2025 the exhibition will open its doors “Zuloaga and Anglada-Camarasa: two visions of modernity”which offers a journey through the art, life and friendship of two of the most important and representative painters of modernism.
The exhibition, prepared in collaboration with the Zuloaga Foundation, will show the complementary visions of the creative process of the two painters and can be visited at the center until August 2026.
