JAKARTA – Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anunung, said that currently the weather modification (OMC) was not necessary to reduce the amount of precipitation in Jakarta. According to him, at present the precipitation in the capital is not too high, the problem is exactly the tide on the coast and upstream from the Punkak region, Bogor Regensi.

Previously, the weather modification (OMC) will be carried out in the sky of Jakarta, Bogor, Depos, Tangaranga and Bekashi from today until July 11, 2025 to reduce the intensity of heavy rain. OMC was carried out by the Agency for Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG) in cooperation with the National Disastation Management Agency (BNPB), as well as the regional spontaneous disaster management agency DKI JAKARTA (BPBD).
“Today, BNPB with us, BMKG and DKI BPBD, have begun operations to modify the weather. Perhaps it will begin this afternoon, because the information is only overnight. And we are still getting ready.
