“Agreeing on a single mechanism under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement at COP29 showed that we are interested in working out all the rules together with the United States and other parties.”
This was stated by Jakob Werksman, senior advisor on international aspects of the European Union’s climate policy.
“Thanks to the agreement, things have greatly improved. Last year in Dubai we agreed on everything necessary to improve the transparency and accountability of carbon markets. The work in Baku on carbon markets and the draft law suggests that the mood remains very constructive. We are going to make plans to do things related to the agreement. We have the necessary speed to do things,” he said.
