After landing during the day this Tuesday in Almería and Malaga, the threat from Dana is now moving towards the province of Cádiz, where the heaviest rains are expected immediately, and towards Seville. The city most affected at the moment is Jerez, whose streets are currently flooded due to heavy rains in recent hours.
In this sense, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) Orange level alerts remain activated for this Wednesday due to a significant risk of rain in practically the entire province of Cádiz, with precipitation accumulated in 12 hours reaching up to 80 liters, in addition to a yellow risk due to storms.
The rains have already intensified in the province of Cádiz. The Provincial Delegation of Cádiz reported the closure to traffic of the provincial road CA-3113 between Puerto Real and the rural district of La Inamore precisely, in the section between kilometers 3.5 and 4.3 because it was affected by the rains. In addition to this provincial road, the CA-9101 section in Olvera remains closed at kilometer six.

One of the main concerns is the overflowing of the Iro River, which could be imminent. The mayor of Chiclana, José María Román, expressed concern about the flood study data and the likelihood of the aforementioned river overflowing. In this sense, he recalled in La Voz de Cádiz that the river already overflowed in 1965 and that there is a study on the risks of flooding carried out by the Junta de Andalucía which “talks about the risks of flooding in the city “.
