Joan Laporta concludes the most important contract in the history of Barça with the Nike brand: 120 million per season

Joan Laporta managed to secure an astronomical deal for Barca. The board of directors of the Blaugrana club approved this Friday the agreement between the two parties and the president keeps the promise he made a little over a month ago: “It will be the best contract in the world of football”, he assured in relation to negotiations which were resolved satisfactorily for the club.

The Barça coffers breathe a sigh of relief. The contract with Nike will be an important source of income and the club will certainly be able to solve its financial problems. Laporta’s leadership has improved an economy that was still in a delicate situation… until now.

Catalan radio RAC1 said a verbal contract already existed, but had not yet been put to a vote. The board chaired by Laporta has approved a deal that will significantly improve Barca’s revenue. Revenues improve by around 48 million euros from 2024 to 2028, moreover, from 2028 to 2038 the club would get between 58 and 60 million more than what it currently receives.

To these amounts we must add a bonus for having renewed the agreement which is around 100 million euros, that is to say that Barça would receive 120 million euros per season after the agreement with Nike.

“The contract could have been signed in August, but it was not done because I wanted to have the best contract. We went to the market to look for a better offer, we got it and they matched it “We are negotiating, finishing it, and it will be announced soon. It will be for the next ten years,” Laporta said a little over a month ago.

Clean up accounts

With this agreement, Barça will see its financial problems reduced and will allow the club to permanently register players like Dani Olmo or Pau Víctor in the next winter market, in January.

When the agreement is official, Barça will return to the 1:1 rule of La Liga to be able to sign without suffering any setbacks during negotiations with the club and with the player.
