Job creation intensified in October, with the number of workers increasing by 134,307 people, the highest record in the historical series except for 2021, with the post-pandemic employment rebound . Regarding unemployment, it increased as usual this month, but less than usual, by 26,769 people.
The final assessment after the movements of the month of October leaves a total of 21,332,513 working people affiliated to Social Security, the highest record for this month.
On the other hand, the total number of unemployed registered with public employment agencies amounts to 2,602,054 people, at the level of 2008, at the start of the financial crisis.
After several months of slight slowdown in job creation, which nevertheless remains high, this month of October is seeing a stronger recovery in affiliations. If we look at the seasonally adjusted data, which isolates employment from the typical fluctuations of seasonality, we see in October an increase of 67,772 active people, well above the 22,200 in September and those of the summer.
