The previous afternoon there was a danger of an avalanche on the Baku Outer Ring Road.
From the Azerbaijan State Highway Agency (AAYDA) Oku.AzAccording to information provided to , appropriate measures are being taken to remove the broken rock mass at the top of the slope on the left side of kilometer 6 of the road.
It was noted that all work is carried out in a coordinated manner between the AAYDA, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of the Interior.
It was also reported that the movement of cars on the Baku Outer Ring Road could be temporarily restricted until the aforementioned works to ensure the safe movement of motor vehicles are completed.

Oku.Az informs that relevant state agencies are taking appropriate measures to eliminate the danger of rock fragments falling towards the Baku Outer Ring Road in the territory of the city of Baku, Sabail district, Badamdar settlement.
“In this context, the movement of automobiles on the Baku Outer Ring Road may be temporarily restricted until the aforementioned measures are taken to ensure the safe movement of motor vehicles.
In this sense, drivers are asked to understand the problem and use alternative routes, taking into account the temporarily applied restrictions.

“On the left side of the Baku Outer Ring Road, at the top of the slope, a 6.5-meter-long part of the existing rock masses in the form of a ledge was broken.”

He pointed out that although it is not a landslide process, it is a type of exogenous-geological process.

It should be noted that the incident occurred yesterday around 4:00 p.m. at kilometer 6 of the Baku Outer Ring Road. During the incident, pieces of rock broke off and flew onto the road on the Lokbatan road in the Garadagh region. Traffic on the road is restricted.
