Both retail chains urge customers to avoid ‘unnecessary stockpiling’ of products
“In solidarity, only buy what you need.” Consum and Mercadona, the main Valencian supermarket companies, join together to call for calm and responsibility of citizens when shopping.
In a joint press release sent this Thursday, the two chains declare that “taking into account the exceptional situation caused by Dana in the province of Valencia”, the two companies are working to guarantee the supply of products in their stores through the different logistics platforms. This is why they insist that it is not necessary to stockpile products excessively – not even in the case of water – and encourage citizens to adopt responsible and supportive purchasing behavior.
Likewise, Consum and Mercadona continue to work to restore service in affected areas and collaborate with authorities to help affected neighbors, suppliers and workers.
