THE Ricardo Delgado Vizcaíno Foundation will celebrate from November 20 to 22, in the auditorium of the Pozoblanco Exhibition Center, its emblematic Autumn dayswith a program that will dedicate the first two days to poetry and literature, in particular to the life and work of the writer, diplomat and politician from Egabrense Juan Valera, since this year marks the two centuries of his birth; and to the Machado family, 150 years after Manuel’s birth.
On the 22nd, a current topic will be discussed, disinformation and new trends in communication in politics and in different areas of current society, in an event attended by the director of ABC, Julián Quirós.
The inauguration will see the participation of the president of the Foundation and director of the Royal Spanish Academy (RAE), Santiago Munoz Machado; the mayor of Pozoblanco, Santiago Cabello Muñoz, and the president of COVAP, Ricardo Delgado Vizcaíno.
The first of the sessions will begin at 5:30 p.m. on November 20 with the title “The tempered liberalism of Juan Valera in Spain of nougats”, which will be taught by the professor of public law and institutional consultant, Rafael Jiménez Asensio.
Then, Santiago Muñoz Machado will be responsible for exposing the relationship between Juan Valera and the RAE with a conference entitled “Don Juan Valera in the Royal Academy Spanish’. The researcher and writer Antonio Ramón Jiménez-Montes will close the afternoon with a presentation entitled “Observation and fantasy: art for art’s sake in the work of Valera”.

“The Machado” is the theme on which the Conference will focus on its second day, which will begin at 5 p.m. “The Machado family: story of an intellectual lineage”, such is the title of the writer and journalist’s intervention Eva Diaz Pérezwhile the professor of Spanish literature at the University of Jaén, Rafael Alarcón Sierra, will speak on “Manuel Machado: between modernism and modernity”.
Poems
The former Vice President of the Government, Alfonso Guerra, will then intervene with his presentation entitled “Around Antonio Machado”. The afternoon will end with a reading of poems by Manuel and Antonio Machado by the actress Irene School.
On Friday, from 5:30 p.m., it will be devoted to a topical subject such as disinformationnew trends in communication and the relationship they have with politics and current society.
“Anonymity: reason and unreason” is the title of the conference by the journalist and professor at the El País School of Journalism Alex Grijelmowhile the director of ABC, Julián Quirós, will focus on the evolution of the written press and the new communication on the networks.
Juan Luis Cebrián will close the Conference with a lecture entitled “The fake programs as a political practice. At the end, the three speakers of the afternoon will discuss among themselves. The entire program will take place in the auditorium of the Pozoblanco Fairgrounds, open to the public up to full capacity.
