The president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Morenoassures that the tourism industry is in one of its best moments in Andalusia and that thanks to workers, entrepreneurs, businessmen and institutions, it is a “more mature, sophisticated, sustainable and demanding industry”. We want quality tourism from an economic point of view, which contributes to generating “more and better jobs, environmentally and socially sustainable tourism.”
This is what was declared this Friday during the inauguration of the XXII edition of the Andalusian Tourism, Sport and Adventure Fair “Tierra Adentro” in Jaénin which he highlighted the “unprecedented” commitment that the Andalusian Government is making to “reinvigorate, modernize and help this province” to deploy the enormous potential it has and which he defined as a “domestic tourism benchmark in Andalusia and Spain.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors emphasized that this is a constantly growing segment which isLast year it attracted 6.5 million tourists to Andalusiaor almost 8% more than in 2022, a figure which represents around 20% of the total number of tourists welcomed. “So far in 2024, hotel indicators are showing good performance, growing above 5%, which gives an idea of their relevance,” he added.
“The Jaén destination is conquering more of the world”
In this way, he said that only between July and August, Jaén was the province with the highest growth rates in Andalusia, both in travelers with 11.5% more, and in overnight stays with 7% more and with a considerable increase in international tourism. which indicates that “the Jaén destiny conquers more of the world.
In this regard, he stressed that this is due to the effort made by the Andalusian Executive with a injection of 22 million to consolidate and project Jaén as a destination of excellence over the coming years or like the 69 promotional actions which required an investment of 1.2 million euros, some of them reverse the missions which brought foreign agents and tour operators to discover this territory first hand.

In this sense, he stressed that the Andalusian productive fabric has a lot to say in areas such as tourism where the province of Jaén offers charms and attractions that make it shine with its own light as “a an inner paradise of which we are extremely proud.
Operators from 16 countries
The Andalusian president explained that this fair will be visited by international operators from 16 countries. “These are travel agencies specializing in domestic tourism, nature, heritage and experience, “They will have meetings with 70 companies,” he stressed.
